Irish media producer Alan Farrell speaks about his return to production, the launch of Connect Now TV, a new real estate series, and Connect Now Property — a platform connecting buyers, sellers and agents worldwide.
After years working behind the scenes in television, film and commercial production, Irish media producer Alan Farrell is returning to the forefront of the industry with Connect Now TV, a media initiative taking its podcast productions on the road across Europe and developing a new series focused on real estate.
We caught up with Farrell to discuss his return to media, his production background and the vision behind the wider Connect Now brand, which brings together Irish talent, international connections and conversations with inspiring people across business, entrepreneurship, property and more.
Farrell is joined in the project by Irish presenter and TEDx mindset coach Breda McCague, with Portugal providing the starting point for a series of interviews exploring business, entrepreneurship, mindset, personal journeys and the people shaping the property sector.
From Production to a New Media Chapter
Farrell is no stranger to television and media production. Having established his own production company at just 19, he has built experience across television, film, branded content and digital media, with projects involving recognised broadcasters and major brands.
Speaking about his return to the industry, Farrell reflected on how the media landscape has changed and why now feels like the right time to develop something new.
“Media has changed enormously over the years, but one thing that has never changed is the power of a good story. I've always enjoyed meeting people, hearing about their journeys and bringing those stories to life. With Connect Now TV, we're bringing that experience into a new format and opening the door to conversations with people from all walks of life.”
Why Portugal — and Why Now?
The new podcast project begins in Portugal, where Farrell and the team will meet contributors and record conversations for audiences in Ireland and internationally.
Asked about taking the production on the road, Farrell explained:
“We didn't want to limit ourselves to one location. There are fantastic people doing interesting things all over Europe, and we want to get out there and meet them. Portugal is a great place to begin, and the ambition is to keep moving, meeting new people and discovering stories that our audience can connect with.”
Working alongside Breda McCague brings an additional dimension to the project. As an Irish presenter and TEDx mindset coach, McCague contributes her presenting experience and interest in mindset, helping create conversations that explore not only what people do, but what motivates them and the lessons they've learned along the way.
Connect Now TV: More Than a Podcast
For Farrell, the project is about creating a platform rather than simply producing a series of interviews.
“Connect Now is about connections — between people, businesses, ideas and opportunities. We want to give people a platform to share their experiences, talk honestly about the challenges they've faced and hopefully inspire somebody else along the way. A conversation can open doors that you never expected.”
Connect Now TV forms part of the wider Connect Now brand, with a focus on interviews, podcasts and digital storytelling. Alongside its broader conversations with entrepreneurs, business leaders and creative thinkers, the team is introducing a new real estate series that will explore the people, businesses and opportunities shaping the property market.
The new real estate series will complement Connect Now Property, the Connect Now platform designed to connect property buyers, sellers and agents worldwide. Together, the media series and platform aim to bring people and property opportunities closer, helping audiences discover stories, make connections and engage with the international real estate community.
Looking Ahead
As Connect Now TV begins its European journey, the team is focused on developing meaningful conversations, building new partnerships and introducing audiences to people whose experiences offer fresh perspectives. The new real estate series and Connect Now Property will extend that mission into the property sector, connecting buyers, sellers and agents across international markets.
For Farrell, returning to media is an opportunity to bring together years of production experience with a renewed ambition to tell stories that matter.
“Ultimately, it's about people and connections. Whether we're sharing someone's story through Connect Now TV or helping buyers, sellers and agents connect through Connect Now Property, our aim is to create opportunities, open doors and bring people together across borders.”
