Algarve tourism begins to boom once moreFigures released by the National Statistics Institute covering the ten months ending in October 2014, show that the number of people spending a night in the Algarve exceed the overall figures for the whole of 2013, making last year one of the best for tourism in recent times.

Between January and October of 2014, 15.5 million overnight stays took place in the Algarve which is an increase of 11.2% on the figures for the same period in 2013.

Desidério Silva, President of the Regional Algarve Tourism Board is confident that the “Algarve continues to be the driving force of tourism in Portugal” and in his opinion, the region has had a year that has been “remarkable on all levels, both in terms of the number of guests and revenue, with great initiative on the extended internal market in Portugal

With a growth in both resident and non-resident visitors, particularly the British, Germans and Spanish to the region contributing to the successful results, the Algarve has also seen a growth in the overall revenue for the region by 14.1% year on year.
Making now an opportune time for anyone seeking an investment property as tourism is in growth and so too will be the rental revenues achievable.
