In our experience we have found it to well priced and fairly punctual - certainly on par with other countries we have visited.

Lacking strategy. The Algarve needs frequent regular transport links operating all day. The rail company is spending €20 millon just upgrading electrical systems. This would by a fleet of green electric buses capable of providing a 15min service between every rail station (and the airport)..

Definitely economical.
However, liable to sudden, unannounced time-table changes.
