Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura gets place number 4 in the most recent national school rankings for 2023/2024, according to the newspaper Observador, with an average exam score of 16.4.
In individual senior secondary school subjects, and according to the same newspaper, CIV achieved 1st place nationwide in Physics and Chemistry, as well as in Biology and Geology; and 3rd place nationwide in Philosophy.
The weekly newspaper Expresso places CIV in 17th position in the overall 2024 secondary school exam rankings, among 529 public and private schools (with an average score of 14.9). Compared to all private schools in the country, CIV stands, according to this publication, with an average of 1.81 points above the national average. "And, compared to public schools, it is 3.66 points above," it adds. "In the subject of Portuguese," the information states that, "students achieved an average exam score of 13.5, above the national average of 12.3." "In Mathematics, exam scores averaged 14.2, placing the school above the national average of 10.7." In Biology and Geology, the average exam score was 17.2, compared to the national average of 11.3; and "in Physics and Chemistry, students from this school achieved an average of 18, compared to 11.2 for students nationwide." "In total," writes Expresso, "five exams at this school received scores between 19 and 20."
National recognition continues when considering the 9º ano results. Again, the newspaper Observador ranks this international school, with more than 40 years of educational excellence, in 28th place out of 1 188 schools, and highlights its position number 9 in Mathematics, at this level of education.
