Algarve Rugby Festival 2014The first game of the “Algarve Rugby Festival 2014” was held at Browns Sports & Leisure Club, Vilamoura on Saturday 5th April with the British Army winning 26-22 against Russian opposition, Krasny Yar.

Krasny Yar set the game off with the first two tries but British Army soon followed, ending the first half with a four point advantage (Half time score: 14-10). Twenty-three minutes into the first half, British Army was up 26-10. Krasny Yar managed to score 2 more tries and conversions bringing them up to a close final score of 26-22.

A beautiful day out, the side lines of the pitch were packed with spectators of all ages and nationalities getting an up-close view of top-class rugby while they enjoyed a cold beer from the pitch-side bars.

A VIP area was set-up with drinks and canapés for before the game, half-time and post-game for team management, delegates and spectators who opted for the VIP service.

After the match, the teams showered and ate before joining the spectators in the bar for some live music by local talent, The Business Band. The British Army players also had their time centre-stage to sing, drum, play guitar and even rap for everyone there.

Overall a great day out followed by a cracking evening.

Next game is this Friday 11th April with Krasny Yar vs. Leicester Tigers followed by live music by members of the Business Band. Similar set up with free entrance, pitch-side bars and music.
