The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is the premier turf contest run in Europe.
Many racing fans from the Algarve will tune in to watch the Group One contest from Longchamp in Paris this October where exciting colt Look De Vega will be vying to maintain his 100% record.
Carlos and Yann Lerner’s runner will face competition from across Europe, Japan, and the UAE in the 1m4f contest.
It is set to be one of the strongest renewals of the open-age race in recent years.

Look De Vega elevated himself into the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe picture when he won the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) earlier this season. He is now the +275 favorite for those betting on horse racing in the Longchamp feature.
As the racing results show, Look De Vega beat 13 other horses in the French Classic at Chantilly. It has been described as one of the best performances in the European Flat season.
The French horse ran just once as a two-year-old, scoring at Fontainebleau by seven lengths. He then doubled his tally with a comfortable triumph in the Prix de Croissy. With no other entries for the rest of the summer, he could make his next appearance in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Opera Singer and City of Troy to Represent Aidan O’Brien
Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has dominated horse racing in the UK and Ireland over the last couple of decades. Despite that success in the British and Irish Classics, he has only won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe just twice.
O’Brien has an excellent chance of bringing up his hat-trick in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe this year, with two strong entries in Opera Singer and City of Troy. Those horses have won some of the biggest races in the UK this summer.

Opera Singer prevailed in the Group One Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood, beating a strong field that included Emily Upjohn and Sparkling Plenty. The three-year-old filly was successful at the Arc meeting in 2023 when she won the Prix Marcel Boussac – Criterium des Pouliches.
The Irishman will also saddle City of Troy at Longchamp. His son of U.S. Triple Crown winner Justify prevailed in the Derby at Epsom. He then had success against the older horses in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.
Sosie Is the Son of a Former Winner French colt Sosie is a son of former Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe victor Sea the Stars. The Group One winner will be bidding to match what his father achieved in the prestigious race in 2009 when he lines up this year against the best of Europe. Sosie finished third in the French Derby on his second run of the season. He then went two places better in the Grand Prix de Paris to give legendary trainer Andre Fabre a big race triumph. That latest performance will have convinced his connections that he deserves his shot at the Arc.
This year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will be the 103rd running of the race. It takes place on October 6, the second day of the meeting in Paris.
