Francisco Bivar Weinholtz was appointed as the new Honorary Consul for Norway in the Algarve this past Thursday at the Alvor Praia Pestana Hotel. The event had the presence of the Ambassador of Norway Ove Thorsheim, and his wife, Mrs. Anne Egge Thorsheim.
Several local entities and a group of Norwegian Nationals living in the Algarve attended.
Francisco Weinholtz succeeds Trond Vikre, who was Consul in Portimão for more than 20 years.
Francisco Bivar Weinholtz was born in Lisboa, 41 years ago, and has is own practice as a Lawyer in Portimão, after coming to the Algarve in 2000 with the PLMJ Law Firm.
Although there is no official data, the Algarve is home to several hundreds Norwegian Nationals and welcomes an increasing number of Norwegian tourists and property owners.
The new consulate is located in Praia da Rocha, at Rua Engº Francisco Bivar.
