Algarve Senior Bikers Reach New Heights

Algarve Senior Bikers Reach New HeightsThe steep and twisty roads through the hills near Monchique offered riders great views over the Algarve from one of the highest points in the region.

Meeting for the last ride of 2016 at the Plazza Cafe in Silves members welcomed new riders to the group before heading north from Silves, taking a scenic route to São Marcos de Serra. A short coffee break here before continuing west and upwards towards Nave Redonda and Monchique with beautiful distant views on the way.

Then crossing the hills and down to Caldas de Monchique for one of the best lunches this year at the restaurant O Maximino. Lunch at restaurant O Maximino, Caldas de Monchique
The day was organised by Stan Green and Martin Taylor, who also acted as lead riders on the day.

Thirty five members enjoyed the lunch starting with warming soup after a chilly ride on a cool but bright sunny day.

The next event will be the Annual Charity Christmas lunch at the Fatacil in Lagoa on Monday December 12th.
This event is to raise money for the Gaivota home for teenagers in Albufiera and is open to all ASB members, friends and families.
