May 2026's ASB ride and lunch were arranged by Roy West. His aim was to visit the viewpoint at Foia, which is the highest point in the Algarve, but by a route we have never used before.
He certainly achieved his aim, by using a small road from near Casais, directly up the side of the hills, to join the main road near the fonte viewpoint almost at the top.
The descent after coffee break to take in the views was on a similar road, down to Alcaria Peso.
The ride started in Silves and ended with lunch at Rooster's, near SB Messines. It was a great ride in the hot weather, with some challenging roads and great views on the way!
