Last Friday 14th February, Valentine's Day, the Albufeira and Silves Bombeiros were definitely feeling the love as a second delivery of equipment, this time donated by Hampshire Fire & Rescue services, in conjunction with the English charity Fire Aid UK, arrived at Silves Fire Station. The items were eagerly awaited for by Bombeiros Commandants of Silves and Albufeira.
Just a few weeks ago (see article here...) the Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service sent over breathing apparatus, this time it was uniform items, consisting of the following;
- 400 items mainly tunics and leggings
- 1000 short sleeved shirts
- 350 female black works trousers
- 120 fleece jackets
- 50 pairs of safety shoes
Direct Transport kindly collected the goods from Eastleigh in UK and delivered to Silves free of charge, so a huge thanks to them and all concerned with making this happen.
