A year of exciting concerts and events continues with a memorable performance of the DIDO & AENEAS opera from the Lagos Academy of Music on 30th April from 18:00h
Vale do Lobo will be introducing the talented musicians and performers of the Lagos Academy of Music during the performance of the DIDO & AENEAS opera being staged on Sunday, 30th April in the resort Auditorium from 18:00h onwards, in a glamourous 365 Algarve Program event, a structure financed by Turismo de Portugal.
DIDO & AENEAS was originally composed by Henry Purcell and was the first English national opera, with its story based on the loves of Dido and Aeneas and the abandonment of the queen Carthage.
The production by the Lagos Academy of Music will be performed by the Algarve Camerata, featuring several national and internationally renowned soloists and including Adrián Rodriguez van der Spoel in musical direction, Marcos Magalhães on the harpsichord and Hugo Sanches on theorbo. Staging is by Carlos Meireles and the costumes have been made by the Artistic Production – Textile Specialisation Course at the iconic Soares dos Reis do Porto School, under the direction of Rita Carvalhas and Paula Manhente.
The DIDO & AENEAS opera is a new edition to the varied and exciting programme of events being held in Vale do Lobo throughout 2017, with the concert designed to appeal to opera aficionados and those new to the genre equally.
Entrance to the concert costs €20,00 for members of the public (Ticket-holders receive a 10% discount at any Vale do Lobo restaurant - on the day and cash payments only).
Bar service begins at the Auditorium half an hour before the performance.
