French pianist MACHA KANZA, will come for the first time to Portugal and give two concerts for the AMIGOS De MÚSICA at Monte Os Agostos on April 8th and 10th 2025.
MACHA KANZA is the winner of numerous national and international competition prizes. She was first noticed and encouraged by the pianist France Clidat at the age of six. That same year, she performed for the first time in concert at the Salle Gaveau, the Salle Pleyel and the Salle Cortot.
She took a double course at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, studying both the piano and the violin! There she obtained a Master with Great Distinction, with a special mention for the 3rd concerto of S. Rachmaninoff. Subsequently, her prizes at the S. Rachmaninoff triennial competition in Los Angeles in 2008 and at the Emil Gilels competitions in 2009 in Odessa marked the beginning of her career.
Her artistic personality is described as "unclassifiable, out of the ordinary, with boundless virtuosity and a musical and recognizable sound", to quote the greatest musicians who have heard her.
A pianist and violinist, Macha is the winner of the "Music - Research and Practice" doctoral scholarship from the Paris CNSM Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and the Sorbonne University. This scholarship awarded by the Etrillard Foundation aims to encourage the rediscovery of works and musical repertoires that are little known to the public.
The subject of her doctorate is about the musical language of the Romanian pianist, violinist, composer and conductor Georges Enesco (1881-1955).
For the Amigos de Música, Macha will play works by Bach, Chopin, Enesco and Manuel de Falla.
All concerts will take place in the Auditorium of OS AGOSTOS near Santa Bárbara de Nexe.
Doors will open at 6.00pm and the concert will begin at 7.00pm.
