On Christmas Day, December 25th, 2025, there will be a Catholic Mass in English at 10:15 AM at the Igreja de Santiago in Tavira, East Algarve. This is a great opportunity for English speaking residents or tourists who wish to celebrate Mass in their own language, on this special day.
The parish of Tavira is home to a growing English-speaking community of Roman Catholics from all over the world, including North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and continental Europe.
English Masses are celebrated every Sunday at 10:15 AM, as well as on certain feast days, including the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God, on January 1, 2026.
The community extends a warm welcome to everyone this Christmas, including those who are not Catholic or Christian.
