Event in aid of Algarve Emporium feeding families in need. This event is pay as you go and in aid of Algarve Emporium.
Please bring 2 unperishable items to be distributed to the supported families: Sugar, biscuits, oil, soft drinks, cereal, household cleaning and personal hygiene products are appreciated. They complement the staples provided by the charity.

afpop Portimão Area Event – 16/04/2026 Wine tasting at Villa Alvor
This lovely winery is located in the old Quinta do Morgado da Torre, between the Ria de Alvor and the Serra de Monchique, just 4.5 km in a straight line from the coast. It will be a great occasion to taste or buy some of the most famous wines produced in the Algarve.
It is a guided visit, that includes the tasting of 3 wines from the Villa Alvor Colheita range (red, white and rose), accompanied by two different types of Aveleda cheeses, Bisaro pork charcuterie and crackers. Address: Lugar da Penina, 8501 Mexilhoeira Grande - Alvor

I have secured another event at Figs on the Funcho, Messines. Details and reservations HERE. This event was very popular last year, and several were unable to reserve a seat, so I recommend early booking. Members only. Non-members may book close to the date if seats available and no members are on the waiting list. Please email me when you have booked.

afpop Lagos Area Event – 24/04/2026 Lunch at Alloro in Praia da Luz
This will be lunch and the meal will be served at 1pm, with the menu of Leek and potato soup to start, followed by your choice of Chicken Parmagiano OR Smoked Salmon Ravioli OR Vegetarian Lasagne. The puds are the ever-popular Sicilian Mousse OR a Fresh Fruit Platter. Water, ½ bottle wine, beer, coffee with your meal is included in the price – any drinks before or after you will pay for yourselves.
There are limited numbers for this restaurant so if you wish to come, then you need to book quickly and when you do, can you tell me your choice of main and pud dishes. Payment is €22.50 per member, €25 per guest.
You will also have a chance to meet our new CEO, Daisy Sampson, who will be coming along to see how we all behave!

afpop Silves Area Event – 15/05/2026 Mini golf and lunch at Eden in Alvor
We have negotiated a great deal with Eden Spa and Mini Golf Alvor, €32 members €35 non members and friends. Please join us for a game of Mini Golf starting at 11.00h followed by lunch in their splendid restaurant.
Lunch consists of: Couvert/Starters for all: Hummus, Chicken wings and other chef surprises / Mains: Beef or Salmon or Vegetarian Burger with chips and salad / Mixed desserts of the day / Coffee, Wine Red or White, Beer, soft drinks and Water to share.
Pre and after dinner drinks to be paid at time of ordering. Please advise choice of burger when booking.

afpop Lagos Area Event – 22/05/2026 Lunch at Sangam Indian restaurant in Luz
For May, we return to another popular venue for us. The meal will start a little earlier, at 12.30h in order that they can clear up and prepare for their evening service.
The dishes will be placed on the table for you to help yourselves and will consist of mixed pakoras, etc., then bowls of Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Pilau Rice and Naan. There will be option of Vegetarian curry if you tell me in advance, so that I can request it for you.
The dishes will be served medium strength but hot sauce should be available for extra heat. Water will be on the table but drinks are at your own expense. We have limited seating at this restaurant so if you wish to come, then you need to get your name down quickly.
The price is €22 for afpop members and €24 for guests.
