Paws for Applause – StreetLife’s First StreetTalk

Paws for Applause – StreetLife’s First StreetTalkOver 70 supporters gathered for a truly special occasion as StreetLife hosted its very first StreetTalk event, ‘Paws for Applause’. The afternoon brought together friends, supporters and animal lovers from across the East Algarve for an inspiring and enjoyable event.

Guests were delighted to welcome speaker Steve Jaggs MBE, who shared fascinating insights into his extraordinary career spanning 30 years. Starting life as a plumber, to looking after the Houses of Parliament, becoming a Deputy Serjeant at Arms, overseeing the multi million pound restoration of the iconic Great Clock - Big Ben, to helping organise the Queen’s funeral, his talk was both enlightening and engaging, capturing the attention of everyone in the room.Paws for Applause – StreetLife’s First StreetTalk

StreetLife continues its vital work across the East Algarve with one simple mission: to reduce the suffering of stray and unwanted dogs through sterilisation. This proven approach prevents countless unwanted litters and improves the lives of dogs and the communities they live in. StreetLife’s founder Linda Cree was delighted to announce that StreetLife has now
surpassed an incredible milestone of 1,700 dogs sterilised - a powerful testament to the charity’s impact and the ongoing support of its community.

Guests enjoyed a fabulous three-course meal with wine, expertly prepared by Executive Chef and co-owner of Tribulum, Jonnie Pratt, and his attentive team, who made sure the afternoon was as memorable for its hospitality as it was for its purpose.

StreetLife extends its sincere thanks to Steve Jaggs MBE for his inspiring talk, and to everyone who joined in making this inaugural StreetTalk such a success. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and the continued support of our sponsors - FitLife, Limoni Restaurant, Quinta do Lago, Philippe Stabile Hair & Beauty and Prime Wines - who provided a wonderful selection of fundraising prizes, the event raised over €1,300 for StreetLife. Without the support of those attending and contributing, this essential work simply would not be possible.

Looking ahead, StreetLife’s next fundraiser promises to be another highlight of the summer calendar - the Strawberry Moon Ball on Saturday 27th June at Barbacoa. With the renowned band The Outsiders set to perform, guests can look forward to an evening of music, dancing, and celebration under the stars and the beautiful strawberry moon of the Algarve.
