We are pleased to introduce Beyond Breast Cancer, an initiative by Mamativa designed to support women living with or beyond breast cancer, with a particular focus on the international community residing in the Algarve.
The Algarve is home to a significant international community. For many women, in addition to the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis and its
treatment, there are additional barriers related to language and cultural differences, limited access to reliable health information, and, in many cases, the absence of the family and social support networks they would have in their home countries.
Beyond Breast Cancer aims to provide a supportive environment focused on health literacy, access to evidence-based information, wellbeing, and the development of peer-support networks among women.
The programme will include sessions led by healthcare professionals and other specialists, practical workshops, patient and survivor experiences, and opportunities for participants to connect with one another. Topics will include post-surgical recovery, quality of life, management of treatment-related effects, and navigating long-term treatment and follow-up.
