afpop Loulé Area Event – 25/09/2026 Lunch at Fogo e Brasa Rodízio Brasileiro e Steakhouse
It occupies the Auberge premises in Cruz Da Assumada and still bares its signage as homage. If you know the place you might agree it’s somewhat of a Dr Who’s tardis, appearing like a small, traditional terraced house from the front but opens out at the back to an impressive valley and ocean view.
It has also undergone a full ‘makeover’ which has made it bright and pleasant inside. o doubt you will have guessed that the focus of the menu is indeed meat however by special negotiation fish and vegetable lovers won’t go hungry!
It’s likely that with our typical numbers that the restaurant will be exclusive to us and everyone will be looked after very well by their highly rated staff.

On October 7th from 3:00 PM, we will be gathering at EDEN ALVOR for a wonderful afternoon of drinks, snacks, and perhaps a round of golf on their beautiful mini-golf course. As afpop members, we will enjoy a 10% discount on drinks and snacks, and the mini golf will cost €10 per person per round. Drinks & snacks: You pay for what you order (10% discount). afpop Lagos Area Event – 22/10/2026 Lunch + Birdwatching + Visit A Rocha
These are 3 events, a four-course lunch at O Caseiro in Arão at 12.30 (€31 members, €34 guests) – we had a good spread there last year. The morning event is a visit to A Rocha to see bird ringing and find out about the conservation efforts which take place there.
No charge but donations welcome.
And the afternoon event is birdwatching with an experienced guide €33 (€36 guests) but the places are limited. Anne Sabine is the organiser for this day so all enquiries and bookings to go to her at pandaalgarve2025@outlook.com

afpop Silves Area Event – 23/10/2026 Lunch at Recanto dos Mouros
October sees us returning to a favourite restaurant but with a much different menu. Recanto dos Mouros behind the Castle in Silves Friday 23rd October 12.30 for 1.00pm €33 members €35 for non-members and friends.
Mixed Couvert - Starters: Shrimp cocktail or melon with ham. Main courses: Salmon with potatoes and vegetables or beef steak with pepper sauce with chips and vegetables or mushroom omelette chips and vegetables. Mixed desserts.
Coffee wine water. After coffee is served any further drinks to be paid when ordering. First two course choices at time of booking please.
