Open for light lunches, snacks, afternoon tea or even an early sundowner, the Garden Café by Fine Dining in Style, now open at Natura Garden Centre in Almancil, is a new ‘pop-up’ casual concept for the summer.
Located in a shaded, tranquil spot in the middle of the popular garden centre on Estrada de Vale do Lobo in Escanxinas, the Garden Café’s menu includes tapas-style sharing starters and salads; grilled prawns, steak, fish and chicken; grazing platters of Portuguese meats and cheeses; dishes of the day; and freshly-made cakes and desserts. A variety of items are also available for delivery or take-away.
Ingredients are key and the fruit and vegetables are sourced from an organic farm near Vila do Bispo in the western Algarve.
This already popular ‘pop-up’ Garden Café by Fine Dining in Style now has another reason for you to make a visit: a weekly Farmers’ Market selling the best quality organic fruit and vegetables from the Algarve.
The Farmers' Market is open every Tuesday until October from 11:00-15:00. Call in to browse, fill your shopping basket, and stay for lunch!
Sample dishes include smoked salmon bruschetta with Algarvian oranges, fennel and iceberg lettuce; avocado on Alentejo toast with a poached egg, tomato and bacon; and bifana with tiborna da laranja. Exclusive teas, a wide range of coffees, fresh smoothies and fresh daily juices, soft drinks, cocktails, beer, wines and sangria are also served.
The Garden Café operates from May to October, and is open Monday to Friday between 11am and 5pm. Outside of normal opening times, it can also be booked for private events.
The concept of the Garden Café has been created by catering company Fine Dining in Style, and with help from its ‘next-door neighbours’ it showcases the beautiful landscaping of Jean-Claude Defrance from Natura Garden Centre and the inspiration of Maria Raposo Interior Design.
