Another prestigious Gold medal for Quinta dos Vales' wines in 2016

Another prestigious Gold medal for Quinta dos Vales' wines in 2016Quinta dos Vales' Marquês dos Vales DUO 2012 red, its most recent cuvée, was distinguished with another gold medal, this time in a nationwide competition.
The combination of Touriga Nacional and Petit Verdot grape varieties, which had already dazzled the jury of the “IX Concurso de Vinhos do Algarve” last month, saw its great potential highlighted once more by winning its second gold medal of the season in the 2016 edition of the competition “Vinhos de Portugal” organized by ViniPortugal in cooperation with Revista de Vinhos.

Quinta dos Vales' Marquês dos Vales DUO 2012 redKarl Heinz Stock, owner and manager of the wine and art estate said: “Yes, we feel proud of these results for our work. We allow our top red wines several years of maturation, first in the barrel and then in the bottle. Our philosophy to produce quality in the fields as well as in the cellar is indeed time and cost consuming but the outcome proves us to be right. Even the best grapes brought into the cellar need to be given sufficient time after conversion into wine to develop and build up to their full potential.

The DUO 2013 red, produced from the same varieties, is already in preparation, as is the DUO 2014, a combination of two of the best Portuguese red grape varieties: Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, and will certainly not disappoint the followers of the renowned Estombar winery!
