Ryanair started its Faro to Marseille, twice-a-week service, on November 2nd, the first of five new wintertime flights that the carrier is launching.
The others are from Faro to, Berlin, Cologne, Cork and Milan-Bergamo.
The head of the Algarve Tourism Association said the routes are good news, "it is with great satisfaction that we see this continued investment by Ryanair in the Algarve.
Andreia Cunha, the head marketing for Ryanair in Portugal, said, "These five new routes mark Ryanair's commitment to the development of traffic and tourism in the Algarve, contributing to the reduction of seasonality in the region and allowing millions of international tourists to enjoy the wonders of autumn and winter in the Algarve.
The head of Faro airport, Alberto Mota Borges, described Ryanair’s “robust winter offer” and the carrier’s continued commitment to the Algarve which is a vital part of the off-season message being promoted by Turismo de Portugal.
