Lagoa to host its 3rd Wine Tourism Conference

VineAutumnLagoa is holding its 3rd Wine Tourism Conference on November 9th and 10th.

"We want the Algarve, a destination offering mainly sun, sea and golf tourism, to offer a structured offer in the area of wine tourism," said the mayor of Lagoa, Francisco Martins.

The conference aims to strengthen the link between the wine sector to the tourism sector, to evaluate the contribution of wine as a complement to the tourist offer, to present good practices and cases studies, as well as to discuss the opportunities for the sector, involving several stakeholders such as producers, hoteliers and restaurateurs, among others.

"There are examples of good practices throughout the country that are not yet widespread in the Algarve. We intend to increase the number of tourists, diversifying and enriching their experience through visits to wineries, cellars and vineyards," said Martins.

The mayor is convinced of a strong potential for Enoturismo in mitigating the seasonality of the Algarve’s tourism income.

The Algarve wines, together with excellent gastronomy, whose quality is appreciated and valued by the most renowned chefs, can undoubtedly be a strong attraction for the loyalty of tourists in the region, reads the blurb.

The III Conference of Enotourism sessions will take place away from the traditional auditorium set-up and will be held in the Única Adega Cooperativa do Algarve, Quinta dos Santos, Quinta dos Sentidos and Morgado do Quintão.

The objective is to put the public in direct contact with the region's wine producers, approaching the theme in its own context.
