Jobless Mourinho rejects Benfica advance

MourinhoFootball team manager, José Mourinho, has rejected an offer to return to Benfica as its new head coach.

The sacked Manchester United manager is said to feel that it is too early to return to Portuguese football at this stage of his career.

Mourinho has let it be known that he would prefer a position at one of Europe's top clubs and that managing Benfica would be below his skill set.

Mourinho's first managerial job was at Benfica in 2000 but he left after just nine league matches after a dispute with the club's management.

Remaining in Portugal, Mourinho moved to Uniao de Leira, and then headed off to Porto where he became noticed after the team won the 2004 Champions' League.

On a roll, he moved to Chelsea where his team won six trophies in three years before he left the club in 2007, ‘by mutual consent.’

'The chosen one' then went to Inter Milan where he won an historic treble in 2010. He then spent three years at Real Madrid before returning to Chelsea where he saw the team win the Premier League title in 2015. Mourihno left the club six months later after Chelsea lost nine of their first 16 matches of the season.

Next it was off to Manchester United where his team won a Europa League and League Cup double in his first season and led United to a second-place finish in the Premier League last season.

Mourinho was sacked last month, less than 24 hours after Manchester United lost 3-1 at Liverpool, leaving them 19 points behind their bitter rivals. He was replaced, temporarily, by Old Trafford legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has won each of his first five fixtures in charge of his former club.

Jose Mourinho is a multi millionaire and I'm sure is uninterested about future work at the moment.
Good luck to him and hope he will carry on with his charity work for children's causes.

Jose Mourinho being a multi millionaire doesnt have to worry about his next job, but I'm sure it is on the horizon.
