Nearly 3,000 construction workers from the UK have gone to New Zealand over the last three years to help rebuild Christchurch which is still recovering from earthquake damage.
The quake caused 185 deaths when it struck in February 2011.
There are more Brits who have received visas than any other nationality.
New Zealand’s immigration department estimates that recruiting for skilled workers will remain a priority because of the scale of the work still required, including long-term opportunities for skilled British workers.
"The list of skill shortages currently includes carpenters, drain layers, forepersons, engineers, surveyors and project managers."
The country also plans to recruit workers in other sectors, such as health care.
Recruitment expositions will take place at Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on March 15 and 16, the Clyde Court Hotel in Dublin on March 19, and at the Ibis London, Earls Court, on March 22 and 23.
