Rain in the Algarve brought dust that turned to a sticky mud in many areas, especially in the east of the region.
The day started cloudy down south, remaining hazy all day, bringing only sporadic rainfall in most of the region.
The weather forecasts suggested clouds in the South but suggestions that rainfall would bring relief to parched land were found to be wanting.
There was a microburst in Carvoeiro and near Estômbar at Sitio das Fontes, with wind hitting 130 kmph.
The chances of more rain in the Algarve rise from 10% on the Friday 29th March to 45% on Sunday. Daytime maximum temperatures will be between 20 and 24°C.
The Maritime Authority says the sea conditions will worsen along the coast with wind above 100 kmph and high seas, until Sunday, March 31st.
In view of this, it is recommended to check and reinforce mooring and keep an eye on moored and anchored vessels, as well as avoiding walkways near the sea.
