The GNR Coastal Control Unit’s Aljezur sub-detachment, yesterday, on October 14th, detained a 36-year-old man for the crime of drug trafficking in Aljezur.
Following a routine road check, the police officers approached the vehicle, which at the time of the check happened to have narcotic products inside of it, which was detected thanks to a strong suspicious smell radiating from inside the car.
The cannabis was being stored in the rear section of the vehicle, and was seized along with the car. The narcotic product was found by the police officers packed inside dirty sacks and bottles, and upon carrying out a further search of these containers, the officers found enough cannabis to create 2,164 doses. This would translate to a total value of 13,000 euros if used for sale purposes.
The detainee remained at the GNR premises until he was brought to Lagos Court for enforcement measures.
