Of the six counties in the Algarve that were included in Covid-19's list of high-risk transmission counties, Albufeira left, but Monchique has now entered, a municipality that had no active cases last month.
The municipalities of Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Portimão and Vila do Bispo remain at high risk in the Algarve, the latter two municipalities very close to very high risk.
The announcement was made today by António Costa and the measures come into force at 00:00 on December 9, next Wednesday.
There are 127 counties covered by the most serious measures because they are also with more accentuated levels of contagion.
The measures that apply here include, for example, the closure of shops and restaurants (except home delivery) on weekends from 1 pm; ban on driving on public roads between 11 pm and 5 am on weekdays and from 1 pm on Saturdays and Sundays; events and celebrations limited to 5 people, unless from the same household; mandatory teleworking (the full list of restrictions is here ).
