The 59-year-old German veterinarian, Ulrike Klein, was surprised by a pack of five dogs that attacked her violently while running in Paderne, Albufeira at the weekend. She suffered several injuries to the head, face, legs and arms.
Fortunately, at the time of the attack, "a person appeared in a car, or I would have died," explained Ulrike Klein.
The victim was assisted by the Albufeira Firefighters and transported in a serious condition to the Hospital de Faro, where she was operated on.
GNR's intervention enabled a quick identification of the owner of the five dogs, which were quarantined.
