The body of missing 53-year-old Dinis Pires has been found in Monte Seco, in the municipality of Loulé.
So far, there are no certainties about the causes of his death, but a source from the authority said that the body was found about 50 metres from his home, showed no signs of violence or visible injuries.
It is known that Dinis Pires was experiencing a difficult period in his personal life and the authorities had already mentioned, during the search period, his possible "history of psychological problems" related to a prolonged state of depression.
Respected hotel director, Dinis Pires worked at several 5 star resorts in the Alentejo and the Algarve. He was known as an excellent professional, cordial and "friendly".
In the past few years, he has served as director-general at Convento do Espinheiro Historic Hotel & Spa and, since 2014, at the Hilton Vilamoura, at Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa.
Last Thursday, the day of the disappearance, family and friends asked social media for help, appealing to anyone who knew information about his whereabouts to alert the authorities.
Searches began on Thursday afternoon, involving several GNR, Civil Protection and Municipal Firefighters, with the support of a drone with a thermal camera.
His "mysterious" disappearance occurred on Thursday morning, after family members returned home to find Dinis Pires gone, but he had left the door ajar.
At the time, there were several scenarios and speculations about the reasons for his disappearance, but "the worst was feared".
The autopsy result is nowawaited, the result of which is expected to be known this week.
We send sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
