Passengers from UK & Brazil now exempt from quarantine

Photo Sky News - PASSENGERS FROM UK & BRAZIL NOW EXEMPT FROM QUARANTINEYesterday, the Portuguese government announced that passengers from Brazil and the United Kingdom arriving in Portugal will no longer be subject to quarantine, as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

"As part of the measures to combat the COVID-19 disease pandemic applied to air traffic, the Government determined that passengers on flights originating in Brazil and the United Kingdom are no longer subject to a period of prophylactic isolation on arrival in Portugal", reads a note from the Ministry of Internal Administration released yesterday, September 1st.

"According to the new order, non-essential travel to and from the US will continue to be allowed, as well as non-essential travel to and from Brazil," the note adds.

The text distributed to the press also states that “with the exception of the two countries mentioned, the Member States of the European Union and countries associated with the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom and the countries and administrative regions whose epidemiological situation is in accordance with the Recommendation (EU) 2020/912 of the Council, of 30 June 2020 – whose list now no longer includes Israel, Macedonia, Montenegro, Lebanon and Kosovo – only essential travel to other third countries is allowed”.

All citizens wishing to travel to Portugal by air, except for children under 12 years old, must present the EU Covid Digital Certificate, or, alternatively, proof of carrying out a molecular laboratory test by RT-PCR or rapid test of antigen with a negative result, performed within 72 or 48 hours prior to departure, respectively.

The measures now announced "are in force between 00:00 on September 1st and 23:59 on September 16, 2021, and may be revised at any time, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation".

Say what you like guys, but the inevitable inflow of people from Brazil with dodgy test certificates will undoubtedly push up deaths over here.

Chip, You may not like what I have to say, but your comment above, sounds like similar comments that were made about lmmigrants that were encouraged by rich Conservative business interests to arrive in the UK and then they undercut their wages.
Which in turn resulted in the wages of unskilled UK workers being reduced and this was one of the reasons that a lot of people voted to leave the European Union.
I am aware that your comment is about covid, but the similarities are present.

(Thankfully Chip, all elderly and people with underlying health problems have been vaccinated, so this is why the authorities can ease restrictions, and we can now start to get back to some form of normality.)

My mistake, the word should have been Xenophobia in relation to people from Brazil.

Not sure if my response has provoked xenophobia or a disbelief in our RETURN TO NORMALITY from the pandemic?

I have been wondering that for a while now, Chip!

Please inform us, why we witnessed on TV, the mass burials and graves in Brazil and elsewhere, of people who died of covid-19 that did not have access to a vaccine, or the (covid vitamins ... )

Once you accept that the mainstream media routinely generates fake news and propaganda to deceive the public, the world will start to make a lot more sense
