The IHRU – Instituto da Habitação e da Reabilitação Urbana, a public entity, is looking for houses to buy, in municipalities in the regions of Porto, Lisbon and the Algarve.
The objective is to expand the public housing supply at affordable costs for those on low income, explains the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing in a statement.
Proposals can be submitted by the owners or legal representative of the properties, as well as real estate brokerage companies. The types of properties in consideration are between 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom, with a maximum value of €213,000 for 1 bedroom, €295,000 for 2 bedroom, €373,000 for 3 bedroom and €430,000 for 4 bedroom properties.
The IHRU will accept new builds, providing that all works have been completed. For 'used' properties, it is necessary that they “are in a condition suitable for immediate use, without the need for renovation or conservation works”.
Owners must submit a proposal for each of the buildings, or set of housing fractions in the same building, that they wish to sell by February 11th, 2022. Information on how to enter your property for consideration can be found HERE.
