Vehicle burst into flames on the A22

A vehicle suddenly burst in to flames on the A22 this morning, heading from Faro to Portimão, just before 9.00am.

The Mercedes ML vehicle caught fire just before the Lisbon/Messines exit, at kilometer 48.9 (Guia, Albufeira), in the east/west direction.

The images show the flames completely consuming the car on the side of the road, forcing the immediate closure of the right lane.

There are no injuries to report.
