A serious accident, which took place on 12 August 2022, left an 18 year old young man hospitalised for 17 days at Faro Hospital. His mother is desperate to find witnesses who saw what really happened.
The young man was travelling with a colleague and friend, near the Almancil - Faro junction.
The accident involved a truck, a car and a motorcycle and took place on August 12, in the direction Almancil to Faro.
“This truck driver did not give the true testimony and, taking advantage of the fact that the kids were inanimate, he says that my son overtook him and got in front of him, making it impossible for him to avoid the collision”, says Catarina Lopes da Costa , adding that “the my son then crashes into a third vehicle that, as you can see, drove the car away from the scene. Otherwise it would have to be visible in the photograph”.
Unfortunately, the INEM rescuer was not able to name a witness who saw the accident exactly as it happened, as she was stabilising the kid.
This same rescuer didn't even know that there was another car at the scene, because it was already gone when she started helping the yong man.
“Unfortunate luck, the insurance company is the same for the truck fleet as the kid’s… And, of course, the game of interests prevails stronger… I’m devastated by the lies and injustice in this country…”, says the victim's mother in a statement.
She asks “everyone to share a lot, but really a lot so that I can find who actually saw how it all happened…”.
“I don't have a suicidal or irresponsible son… Lourenço turned 18 on September 8th, and he could have no longer be here, think about it”, she concludes.
