A 63-year-old man was fatally hit by a regional train yesterday morning, near Chalé das Canas, on the way out of Faro towards Olhão.
The accident happened around 07:30, causing the line to be closed until just after 09:10.
Thirteen emergency operatives attended the accident, including Firefighters Sapadores de Faro, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), PSP and Infrastructures of Portugal.
