The Algarve and Beja regions are under a yellow warning due to the forecast of sometimes heavy showers, today and Wednesday.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) have said the warning will be in effect between 12:00 and 18:00 today, and between 00:00 and 15:00 on Wednesday.
Further north, the IPMA also issued a yellow warning for the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco due to snowfall expected on land above 700/800 metres between 00:00 and 09:00 on Wednesday.
The yellow warning, is the least serious issued by the IPMA, to warn of a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
The forecast also points to the formation of frost in the Algarve region, and a small decrease in the maximum temperature that have been seen in the last couple of days.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between -3 degrees (in Guarda) and 7 degrees (in Faro and Aveiro), and the maximum between 8 (in Guarda) and 17 (in Braga and Setúbal).
