The PSP arrested two men, aged 21 and 31, on suspicion of committing robbery in Portimão, threatening their victim with a knife.
The two men, armed with the knife, stole a wallet from a citizen and tried to withdraw money using the cards inside from ATMs in the vicinity.
"Following the news of a robbery carried out on one of the avenues of the city of Portimão, in the early hours of June 1st, the Portimão Criminal Investigation Squadron immediately began investigative measures", explains the PSP District Command of Faro in a statement.
After collecting the necessary evidence, which included the collection of images obtained through the video surveillance system, installed in the Praia da Rocha area, the two suspects were located on Friday afternoon, and detained through a warrant issued by the Criminal Police Authority.
The detainees were present for the first judicial interrogation on Saturday, and given a coercive measure of periodic presentations at the PSP station, while awaiting trial.
