A collision between two vehicles on the EN125 this morning caused an 80 year old woman to be run over, with the car then fleeing the scene.
The collision happened in Vila Nova de Cacela, just before 9am this morning, causing traffic in both directions on that section of the EN125 to be closed.
The 80 year old woman was seriously injured and transported to the Basic Emergency Service of Vila Real de Santo António. The accident also caused two other victims to be injured, whose health status is so far unknown, but they are thought to be only slightly injured.
A total of 16 emergency crew, including members of the Vila Real de Santo António Fire Brigade, the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) and the GNR, attended the accident.
