The Algarve Regional Health Administration ( ARS ) have hired 14 doctors, specialising in General and Family Medicine, with the objective to reinforce the teams in health centers across the Algarve region, to fulfil the needs of the local population.
These professionals will improve care activities, primary health care and the quality of services provided to patients in the Algarve region.
The new doctors will join the teams of the Personalized Health Care Units in the municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Lagoa, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, Quarteira, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira. This reinforcement will supposedly make it possible to expand the family doctor coverage in the region.
In the reception sessions for the new doctors, which took place on the 1st and 15th of June, the chairman of the Board of Directors of ARS Algarve, Paulo Morgado, welcomed the new doctors. He congratulated them for their interest in integrating primary health care in the region, and stressed the importance of their settling in the locations where they will perform functions.
