A Ryanair plane heading from the United Kingdom to Morocco made an emergency landing at Faro Airport this morning, after the pilot became unwell.
The flight, with just 18 passengers on board, gave the red alert at 9:19am this morning.
The District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Faro confirmed that the landing was carried out "without incident", and that passengers would take off again with another pilot, as soon as possible.
Currently, there is no information available about the pilot's health status, or whether he needed medical treatment or hospitalisation.
