Albufeira: Public Prosecutor's Office accuse two men of killing a businessman in 2019Yesterday, the Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) announced it has charged two men suspected of having killed the owner of a Berlin ball factory in September 2019, in the city of Albufeira.

According to a note published on the Faro Public Prosecutor's Office website, the two men, aged 40 and 42, one of which has been in preventive detention since April, are accused of the crime of qualified homicide.

According to the MP, the events took place at the beginning of September 2019, when the defendants “following a prior plan” entered the factory during the night, beating the 66 year old victim and causing his death “by external compression of the neck”.

After the attacks, the defendants tied the businessman's hands and feet using adhesive tape known as mechanic's tape, “covered his mouth and suffocated him”, the Prosecutor's Office statement says.

The defendants, "will then have appropriated 16,000 euros and several objects", it says.

Upon arrest, the MP described in a statement that the alleged murderer had gone to the establishment with the intention of stealing any money he found and that, upon coming across the owner of the factory, he attacked him, causing his death.
