A 21 year old man was arrested at the weekend, for attempted murder during an incident that took place on September 29, in the municipality of Loulé.
According to the Judicial Police, the investigation carried out by the PJ's Southern Directorate revealed that “the aggression arose following an altercation related to debt issues. Three gun shots were fired by the 21 year old," with “one hitting the 24 year old victim, causing serious injuries that put his life in danger, had it not been for the prompt intervention of emergency services and his transfer to the Algarve University Hospital Centre”.
The suspect was arrested in Vilamoura, following the “collection of relevant evidence, which also allowed the recovery of the murder weapon”.
Present before the judicial authorities for the first judicial interrogation, the defendant was subject to the coercive measure of periodic presentations at a police station.
