On Friday, Volunteer Firefighters from Albufeira carried out the controlled collapse of part of a cliff, on Praia do Olheiros, in Olhos de Água.
Secured by ropes, the tricky operation involved the firefighters carrying out a “controlled dismantling and stabilisation of the cliff”, using “high-angle rescue techniques and equipment, and rescue and extrication”.
This intervention was carried out at the request of the Portuguese Environment Agency.
