The EN120 in Odeceixe was closed by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) in March due to big cracks and the risk of landslides on the road, but as yet, nobody knows when it will be reopened.

The area closed is 'the bends' area at KM 128+600 in Odeceixe, which Aljezur council say “represents a vital infrastructure for the territory, whose current degradation compromises mobility, road safety and the socioeconomic development of the region”.
Infraestruturas de Portugal, responsible for the repair of the road, says it is “making every effort to repair the road and restore traffic and safety conditions on the EN120”, saying “we are launching a procedure to prepare the execution project for the aforementioned work”.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Aljezur, José Gonçalves, launched a challenge to the leaders of the parties with current parliamentary seats, who are running in the next legislative elections, to travel to the parish of Odeceixe in order to see “in person the critical situation of the National Road 120”.
“It’s not just about a road in poor condition, it’s about the dignity and territorial cohesion of a region that has been forgotten”, said José Gonçalves.
