A Jet2 plane, originating from UK, made a safe emergency landing in Faro yesterday morning, after experiencing a hydraulic problem.
According to a source from the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the Boeing 737-300 flight from Leeds to Faro had only 24 people on board, and “landed safely”.
The emergency was declared by the pilots at 11:27 Monday morning, due to an alleged problem with the flaps, the aircraft's support system at low speed, which is essential for landing.
“The situation triggered the emergency plan, in accordance with the established protocol”, which mobilizes several Civil Protection resources.
The aircraft landed without incident and the alert ended at 11:41.
