As part of the Environment Week initiatives led by the Municipality of Loulé and in celebration of European Maritime Day, Aspire International School was proud to take part in a major coastal clean-up held on Tuesday, May 20th, in Vale do Lobo.
Organised by Infralobo and Resort Vale do Lobo, the initiative brought together over 350 participants, including volunteers, teachers, and students from local schools. Aspire contributed significantly to this community-driven effort, with 136 students across various year groups joining the clean-up alongside 152 students from the Almancil School Group.
The students, accompanied by staff and volunteers, spent the morning clearing litter from the beach, helping to collect more than 260 kilograms of waste in just a few hours. The initiative not only contributed to the health of the local coastline but also served as a practical and inspiring lesson in environmental responsibility and civic engagement.
This intergenerational and cross-community event created a positive atmosphere of teamwork, shared purpose, and sustainability awareness — values deeply embedded in Aspire’s educational ethos.
