The company Águas do Algarve received two awards in the 3rd edition of the Essência do Ambiente Awards 2025. This nationwide initiative recognizes projects with significant positive environmental impact, innovation, and commitment to sustainability in Portugal.
Out of more than 500 projects competing across five categories, Águas do Algarve excelled with its campaign “Water is Life, don't waste it,” which won in the Environmental Awareness category, and “Water and the Sea for Me,” which was awarded in the Social and Environmental Responsibility category.
The awards ceremony took place on June 6th, in the Vila Flor Palace Gardens in Guimarães. Notably, this year’s winners were determined by public vote, engaging thousands of participants from across the country.
In a statement, Águas do Algarve commented that “these awards reflect the dedication, creativity, and collaborative efforts of the entire Águas do Algarve team. They particularly recognize the strategic importance of communication and environmental education as fundamental pillars of our work. By fostering community engagement, raising awareness, and sharing knowledge, we aim to encourage behavioral changes, value water resources, and inspire sustainable solutions.”
