The GNR arrested a 33 year old man last night in Albufeira, for possession of a prohibited bladed weapon, in one of the busy nightlife areas of the town.
The GNR say it received “a complaint regarding threats using a bladed weapon, which occurred in a nightlife area in the city of Albufeira”, and the military personnel who immediately went to the location carried out police investigations that “allowed the suspect to be identified and intercepted”.
“During the intervention, it was possible to confirm that the individual was in possession of a knife, with a 12 cm blade, classified as a prohibited weapon under current legislation”.
The action resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of the aforementioned weapon.
