The Municipality of Albufeira has joined the “Albufeira Social Radar” project, which aims to identify people, families and groups in situations of social vulnerability or at risk of poverty and social exclusion, in conjunction with entities of the municipality's Social Network.
According to a statement from the local authority, the project also focuses on “georeference resources, responses and solutions, at local and regional level, promoting the participation and sustainability of communities”.
One of the objectives of this new project is to “have the possibility of directly activating the local network of resources of the local Social Network whenever the reference results in the need for an emerging social intervention”, says the Councilor responsible for the Social Action project, Cláudia Guedelha.
“What this alert system allows us to do is to quickly and effectively map and connect existing resources and solutions in the community, facilitating referral to the appropriate social services”, says José Carlos Rolo, president of the municipality, who wants to be “sure that no one is forgotten in our municipality, with the possibility of closer, more human monitoring”.

The Social Radar is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP).
