The Judicial Police have arrested a 26 year old man on suspicion of raping a 16 year old on June 10th, in the Portimão area.
“The attacker and the victim met in person, having made contact through social media, arranging a meeting for that day”, says the PJ.
The suspect “lured the victim to his vehicle, parked in a deserted place, and despite the teenager’s refusal and resistance, he raped her”.
Afterwards, “he took her home, and the victim reported what had happened to her parents, who reported the situation to the police authorities,” the Judiciary police said.
In a statement, the PJ explains that it immediately began the investigation, having collected “relevant evidence strongly indicating the practice of rape, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect”.
The detainee will be brought to the first judicial interrogation for the application of coercive measures.
The Inquiry is headed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Portimão.
