Since the beginning of 2025, the refurbishment of more than 20 children's playgrounds has been underway, some of which have already been completed, others due to start soon.
Loulé City Council began a comprehensive plan to refurbish the municipality's playgrounds in 2024, with the aim of improving their safety, accessibility and comfort conditions.
Covering several parishes in the municipality, the works includes the replacement of degraded equipment, the installation of new equipment, as well as the renewal of safety flooring, at a cost of almost 1 million euros.
In 2024, the playgrounds of the Jardim das Comunidades and Jardim da Vila in Almancil, the Ameixial Kindergarten and the Community Support and Entertainment Centre of the Parish of Alte were refurbished.
Soon to start is the refurb of the Clona Urbanization in Loulé, Largo Poeta Pardal in Quarteira, Loulé Municipal Park South and North, Alte Traditional Games Space, among many others.
