The renovation project of Espaço da Nora, in Vale Talegas, Estômbar has begun, creating a 2233 m2 urban park area in the area where the waterwheel, "abandoned for many years", stands.
At the cost of 418,500 euros + VAT, the project aims to preserve the heritage by restoring the old waterwheel and putting it into operation. At the same time, an urban park will be created in the area surrounding the waterwheel, with a fitness area (bicycle, elliptical, pull-down, and extension), a children's area (spring, swing, and pyramid), and a pedestrian path.
A landscaped area will also be created, where trees (olive, carob, and other species) and shrubs will be planted, and public lighting will be installed.
The project is to be completed within 180 days.
